Positive Impact of Childbirth Instructor and Doula on Families
“I love to learn, and each year, I take continuing education courses within the childbirth and parenting field. These experiences have given me an in-depth understanding of the various methods and procedures doctors and midwives use during labor. My hope is that my work as a childbirth educator and doula positively impacts the family dynamics of my students and clients.
When I’m not teaching childbirth classes, attending a home birth with a midwife, or leading a support group or event, you can usually find me sharing articles on Facebook, working in one of my many gardens or spending time with my husband Paul driving our 1972 convertible MG with the British Car Club, and finding new restaurants to visit. I love updating my house, painting and decorating. I love Cooking, Canning, quilting, making Sourdough Bread. Next, on my list is learning to knit.
If you friend me on Facebook, you will see some of the many animals who visit me in my yard, usually female animals with their babies. I’ve had a momma raccoon and her 5 babies, and momma fox, Mr. Big raccoon, little white possum, bluebirds in 2 boxes raising babies, hummingbirds, Right now a doe and her fawn, who was born in my yard and she nurses it right in front of us, Breast is Best! Yes all this right in Cool Springs/Brentwood TN.
I can help families seeking home births with midwives as well as those parents-to-be planning a hospital or birthing center experience. I am glad to serve as an instructor, coach, consultant and/or doula.”
